I took this photo at my Pop up Shop in July. It was hard to ‘style’ it nicely because there is so much and because the lavender hearts are in cellophane bags and they slip and slide all over the place so I just plonked it attractively on the table and hoped for the best. There is a selection of all of these at my on line shop

Too Lovely
My vintage bunting can be used in the garden on a dry day, though they are few and far between at the moment. These florals were hand printed in the USA in the thirties.

Mini Vintage Bunting
I’ve been making vintage bunting for many years and now I also make vintage patchwork bunting and mini vintage bunting (pictured).
My bunting isn’t the sort which is used to decorate large venues, marquees or streets. I source my fabric from all over the world. Some of it was handmade in the thirties and forties. Some is hand dyed. The sort of colours and patterns I like weren’t too difficult to get a few years ago, now unfortunately it’s like gold dust so every little piece is precious. I add small pieces of gingham, polka dots and muslin and make it by the meter. Each little piece is like a jewel and I cut them all differently and I also dye some myself so that each string of bunting is a beautifully precious little collection of quality vintage fabric in glorious ice cream colours.

Handmade vintage bunting in the garden
My vintage fabric bunting in the garden on a sunny day vying for attention with the wall flowers. Last year the wall flowers were orange which is why I bought them. This year they were red and yellow, I felt like taking them back 🙂
